TomCam

Efficiency and quality in one machine

The TomCam inspects each tomato before it goes to the designated exit. Here, tomatoes of the same qualities are gathered together. The selection is made based on digital images from various views of each tomato. The software also makes it possible to recognize signs of an affected tomato. These defects are then measured in numbers and percentages, providing insights into causes that can be taken into account during cultivation.

Advantages:

  • sorting belt with V-belt and diabolo rollers;
  • cameras with images from top and sides;
  • 16 color photos per tomato;
  • Artificial Intelligence to recognize defects in tomatoes;
  • more capacity than traditional sorting machines;
  • practical operating system;
  • low maintenance.

Customer experiences:

"As a child of a tomato grower, I didn't find it interesting at all to continue in the same business later. I can't remember a moment when there weren't concerns about insects or diseases in the tomatoes.

There was even a period when I didn't eat a single tomato. That's how fed up I was with it.

That changed when I went to university and - blood is thicker than water - started studying horticulture and arable farming. Somehow growing vegetables is in my genes, and so I wanted to pursue progress within our family business by gaining knowledge.

During the course, cultivation techniques, sustainable production, and innovations within the sector were discussed, among other things. The latter fits perfectly with the products that TechNature develops and the company's philosophy.

Fortunately, the TomCam doesn't disappoint. Where in the past we could only select visually and not everyone was equally skilled on the sorting line, technology now takes that over from us. We can inspect more tomatoes in less time with fewer people and achieve a higher quality level. And all this because of the beautiful sorting machines with cameras and the qualities of the computer experts at TechNature."
